64 vehicles torched in 13 days across the country: DMP

At least 64 vehicles were torched in 13 days across the country amid the countrywide hartal-blockade enforced by BNP-Jamaat.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) additional commissioner (crime and operations) Dr Khandakar Mahid Uddin revealed the information in a press conference in the capital on Friday (November 10).

He said that three phases of blockade and one day of hartal have been observed since October 29. DMP is positive about any political program. We are committed to providing security in these programs. We are trying to do that with sincerity.

Khandaker Mahid Uddin also said, but unfortunately, we have seen some unwanted, unacceptable incidents in the name of political program. Miscreants set 64 buses on fire in Dhaka metropolitan area.

12 people were caught red-handed by people and police while trying to set fires, he added.
