CEC to announce polls schedule directly for the first time

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal will address the nation at 7:00pm today (November 15) to announce the schedule for the 12th parliamentary election.

He will announce the polls schedule in a televised speech for the first time in the country.

Earlier, the Chief Election Commissioners used to air the recorded version of the polls schedule to address the nation.

EC Secretary Jahangir Alam yesterday told the journalists that the CEC would announce the polls schedule in a televised speech for the first time in the country although the CECs used to air the recorded version of the polls schedule in the past.
