24 more die of dengue

24 more dengue patients died across the country in the past 24 hours till Wednesday (November 15), raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 1,520.

According to a statement of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 1,623 new dengue patients were hospitalized over the period.

Of the new cases, 349 are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Dhaka and 1,274 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals outside Dhaka.

With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 2,96,576, the statement said, adding: “This year, some 2,89,390 patients were released from different hospitals out of the total patients.”
