12 arson attacks reported in 15 hours

Since the Election Commission’s announcement of the next general election schedule on Wednesday evening (November 15), the fire service has recorded 12 arson attacks across the country till 9 am today (November 16).

Fire service and civil defense revealed the information through a press notice in this regard.

A leguna (human whaler) was burnt in college intersection in Jhalakathi, a truck in Joybangla Haat of Bogura Sadar, a covered-van in Israel intersection, Shakpala of Bogura, a mini truck in Shibganj of Bogura, a truck in Mahipur of Sherpur, a commuter train in Tangail, a truck in Haziganj of Chandpur, a covered-van in Nayabazar of Banpara in Natore, a Leguna in Dashpara of Sylhet, a truck in Dohar of Dhaka, and two buses in Khulna were burnt during the period.

The fire incidents were brought under control with the help of 21 firefighting units, said fire service department.
