Adam Tamizi Haque can be arrested anytime

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have cordoned off the Gulshan residence of Adam Tamizi Haque, managing director of Haque Group of Industries.

“Adam Tamizi Haque has threatened to commit suicide, but we are trying to arrest him and he can be arrested anytime”, said RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin.

Haque returned to Bangladesh on Monday, and he announced his arrival in a post on his verified Facebook page.

In September, Haque took to Facebook to announce that a state minister from Gazipur was attempting to seize his business, compelling him to return to Bangladesh from overseas to safeguard his enterprise.

He then conducted a series of Facebook Live sessions, during which he controversially burnt his passport and made disparaging remarks about women in leadership, the Awami League, and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In response to his actions, he was swiftly relieved of his party position, and the Dhaka City North Awami League suspended him.
