BNP’s 48 hours hartal begins

A 48-hour nationwide hartal called by the BNP and its allies began this morning (November 19) to protest the Election Commission`s announcement of the polls schedule.
This is the second round of hartal called by the BNP since October 28. It has also enforced five rounds of blockades in the last 20 days.
Earlier, the Election Commission announced the schedule of the 12th National Election on January 7, amid the blockade program of the opposition parties.
On Saturday (November 19), BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a virtual press conference urged the government to withdraw the polls schedule.
