Sabotage cases: BNP leader Nirob and 7 others jailed

A Dhaka court sentenced former Juba Dal president Saiful Islam Nirob and six others to two and half years’ imprisonment in a case filed with Tejgaon police station for their involvement in sabotage activities.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Sheikh Sadi passed the order on Monday (November 20).
The other accused in the case are – Sajedul Islam Sumon alias Baha Sumon, Gandu Shaheen, Bellal Hossain, Jakir Hossain, Anwaruzzaman Anwar alias Anwar commissioner, and Abu Bakkar Siddique.
The court also fined them Tk2000 each, in default of which they will have to serve seven more days in jail.
Earlier in May, 2013, the case was filed with Tejgaon police station. Later, police arrested Nirob on March 4, this year.
