Bangladesh Bank staff bus set on fire

Miscreants have set a staff bus of Bangladesh Bank on fire in the capital’s Motijheel on second day of the 48-hour hartal called by BNP and like-minded opposition parties.

However, no casualties were reported in this connection.

Ershad Hossain, duty officer at Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, told risingbd on Monday (November 20) evening that: “A double-decker staff bus of Bangladesh Bank was set on fire in front of Modhumita Cinema Hall around 4:30 pm. The bus was waiting to take staff of the central bank.”

However, it was still unclear who has actually set fire to the vehicle.

It was learnt that local people, being informed, rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

On information, police and RAB personnel along with fire service men visited the spot.
