232 platoons BGB deployed across the country

A total of 232 platoons of the Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) have been deployed across Bangladesh to prevent acts of sabotage during the latest nationwide transport blockade initiated by the BNP and its allies.

BGB public relations officer Md Shariful Islam confirmed the matter on Wednesday (November 22).

He said, that among these, 28 BGB platoons are on patrol in Dhaka and the surrounding districts. Besides, sufficient BGB members were kept ready.

The deployment is aimed at controlling the law-and-order situation in the country, according to BGB.

Earlier, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the blockade at a virtual press briefing on Monday.
