Fakhrul’s bail hearing today

Hearing on the bail petition of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be held today in a case filed in connection with the attack on the residence of Chief Justice at Kakrail in the capital on October 28.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court is likely to hear the bail prayer on Wednesday (November 22) noon.

November 20 was set for the bail hearing. However, the state side sought time for the bail hearing informing the court that Public Prosecutor (PP) Abdullah Abu was ill.

Later, the court fixed November 22 for the next bail hearing.

On November 2, lawyer Sayed Joynal Abedin Mesbah submitted a prayer to the court seeking Fakhrul’s bail in the case.

On October 29, the Detective Branch of police detained Fakhrul from his Gulshan residence.

Later, Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Md Rashidul Alam sent him to jail, rejecting his bail prayer after he was produced before the court in the case.

Mentionable, subversive activities were carried out on the residence of Chief Justice on October 28. Following the incident, a case was filed with Ramna Police Station against 59 BNP leaders and activists including Mirza Fakhrul.
