Jatiya Party to join national election

Jatiya Party (JaPa) will join the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad election to be held on January 7 in 2024.

Jatiya Party Secretary General Mujibul Huq Chunnu formally announced this at a press conference held at the party’s chairman office at Banani in the city on Wednesday.

After getting assurance from the Election Commission and other stakeholders the upcoming election will be free, fair and impartial. So, Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has decided to take part in the election, he said.

“We have almost completed all our preparations for the election. But it was not announced whether we would go to the election or not. As we have always said, we want an environment of trust, so that voters can go to the polling stations and cast their votes”, he said.

The secretary general said their party would give nominations in all 300 seats of Jatiya Sangsad. Till Wednesday noon, a total of 14,00 nomination papers were sold.
