In the kitchen markets of the capital, the price of beef has declined significantly.
During visit to different markets on Friday morning, it was seen that per kg beef was sold from Tk 600 to Tk 650. In some places, it was seen that per kg beef was sold under Tk 600.
In responding to the question of the fall in the price of beef, Shafi Uddin Dulal, a meat seller in the capital’s Hazaribagh, said cows are getting sick in various farms as a result, many farmers are selling cows at low prices. That is why the price of beef has slightly declined.
Meanwhile, shopkeepers are not able to sell sugar for the past one week due to less supply of sugar by wholesale companies.
Packs of sugar are less available in the market this week as compared to last week, and sugar is being sold at a slightly higher price of Tk 135 to Tk 140 per kg.
