4 workers burnt while cutting chemical drum in capital

Four workers sustained burn injuries after a chemical drum exploded at an under-construction building at Taltola bazar in the capital’s Agargaon area on Monday (November 27) morning.
The incident took place at about 9:30am.
Those who sustained burn injuries are Rabin, 19, Rafiqul Islam, 18, Sarlal Das, 45, and Mozaffar, 26, and they were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Another worker Shafikul Islam said, “A chemical drum exploded when the workers were cutting the front part of the drum, leaving the four workers burnt.”
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost in-Charge Md Bacchu Mia confirmed the incident and said, “The burnt people are being treated keeping them at the burn unit’s observation”.
