143 Bangladeshis return home from Libya

A total of 143 Bangladeshi nationals, who were detained at a detention centre in the Libyan capital of Tripoli, returned home today.

A chartered flight of Buraq Air (UZ 0222) carrying the Bangladeshi nationals landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 5:00 am on Tuesday (November 28).

They were detained at the Ainjera Detention Center in Tripoli. With the all-out efforts of Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, Libyan government and direct cooperation of International Organization for Migration (IOM) the detained Bangladeshis returned home.

After their arrival at the Dhaka airport, Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials and IOM officials welcomed these Bangladeshi citizens.

On this occasion, IOM gave each of them Tk 5896 as pocket money and some food items.
