Tax return submission deadline extended by two months

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for the submission of income tax returns for individual taxpayers by two months.

According to an order signed by Second Secretary Md Mohidul Islam Chowdhury, individual taxpayers will be able to submit their returns till January 31.

The previous deadline for the filing of income, expenditure and wealth statements without penalty was November 30.

In line with the Income Tax Act-2023, companies will be able to submit return till February 28 instead of January 15.
