BNP`s 48 hours blockade begins

A 48-hour blockade enforced by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) began at 6:00am on Sunday (December 3).

This is the ninth spell of blockade that will end on 6:00 am Tuesday (December 5).

Earlier on Thursday (November 30), BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi declared the fresh blockade and called upon the country's people and the supporters of BNP to observe the programme spontaneously to make it a success.

BNP observed blockades in eight phases to mount pressure on the Awami League government to quit power and hold the next election under a non-partisan administration.
