Dhaka-5: 9 MP aspirants out of 22 declared as invalid

The Returning Officer (RO) of Dhaka-5 on Monday scrutinized the nomination papers of 22 parliament member candidates in the upcoming 12th national election and cancelled nine of them for various causes.

Besides, three aspirants were given two hours to submit their necessary documents.

The last day verification process will continue throughout the day at the Divisional Commissioner's office in the capital’s Segunbagicha.

Sources said the scrutiny of nomination papers of Dhaka-4 to Dhaka-18 constituencies will be completed today.

Earlier, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced the schedule for the 12th parliamentary elections on November 15.
