179 foreigners interested to monitor national election

A total of 179 foreigners including 48 journalists have expressed their interest to monitor the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election. 

A total of 131 individuals have applied to the Election Commission (EC) to become observers. Besides, the EC have invited 114 persons to monitor the upcoming election.

Election Commission Secretary Md Jahangir Alam said this on Thursday (December 7).

December 7 was the last day for submitting applications for foreign observers. The Election Commission is scheduled to give approval to foreign observers on 16 December.
