152 BGB platoons deployed countrywide

A total of 152 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the country to help law enforcers maintain law and order on the first day of the 36-hour blockade called by the BNP and its allies.

Shariful Islam, public relations officer (PRO) at BGB headquarters, confirmed the development on Tuesday (December 12).

He said that 18 platoons of BGB were also deployed in Dhaka and adjoining districts today to avoid any untoward incidents.

For the 11th time, BNP, Jamaat and its allies have called a countrywide blockade of roads, rail lines, and waterways to press home their one-point demand ahead of the national election.
