President, PM pay tribute to martyred intellectuals

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today paid rich tributes to the martyred intellectuals on the occasion of the Martyred Intellectuals Day.

After the president, the PM placed wreaths at Martyred Intellectuals Memorial at Mirpur in Dhaka around 7:00 am on Thursday (December 14).

They stood there in solemn silence for a while as a mark of profound respect to the memories of the illustrious sons of the soil.

Meanwhile, an armed contingent of three forces gave a Guard of Honour.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages on the eve of the day.
