Jail for damages of cameras of journalists

Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd) Md Ahsan Habib Khan has said if any person will be sentenced to two and seven years in jail if he or she damages cameras of journalists.
The Election Commissioner (EC) came up with the remark while talking to journalists after a meeting with election officers and officers of law enforcing agencies on the occasion of the 12th national election at the Kushtia Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday (December 19).
“A new law has been made, if someone vandalizes cameras of journalists, he will be jailed for two to seven years. Journalists will work independently. When votes will be counted, they can video. As a journalist you should publish the right thing. The election officials will be aware and alert about this”, he said.
