Keraniganj gas cylinder blast: Another dies

Another woman, who sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast at a residence in Dhaka’s Keraniganj upazila, died at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Tuesday night.

So far, two persons have died in this connection.

Tariqul Islam, a resident surgeon of the institute, said that Bina Rani Chakrabarty, 40, who suffered 85 percent burns, died around 10:30 pm while undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the institute.

Earlier, Uma Chakrabarty, mother of Bina Rani Chakrabarty, passed away with 92 percent burns around 9:30pm on Monday (December 18).

Earlier on Monday, an explosion took place around 9:30am on the ground floor of a four-storey building at Rishipara area in the upazila, leaving six people including four members of a family burnt.
