140 Bangladeshis return home from Libya

A total of 140 Bangladeshi nationals, who were stuck in Libya, returned home today.
Among them, 113 people were affected by floods in the city of Derna in eastern Libya and 27 were detained at Ganfouda detention centre in west of Benghazi.
A flight of Buraq Air carrying the Bangladeshi nationals landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 6:30 am on Thursday (December 21), according to the Foreign Ministry.
With the all-out efforts of Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, Libyan government and direct cooperation of International Organization for Migration (IOM), the detained Bangladeshis returned home.
After their arrival at the Dhaka airport, Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials and IOM officials welcomed these Bangladeshi citizens.
On this occasion, IOM gave each of them Tk 5,919 as pocket money and some food items.
