9 countries to observe Bangladesh polls

Foreign ministry spokesperson Seheli Sabrin said that nine countries have so far confirmed they will send observers during the 12th parliamentary elections in Bangladesh, slated for January 7.
She disclosed the information at the weekly briefing on Thursday (December 21).
The nine countries which will come to observe the Bangladesh polls are— India, China, Russia, Japan, Mauritius, Georgia, Palestine, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka, Sabrin said.
Besides, expert team of European Union (EU), the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Commonwealth and the Arab Parliament will also send observers.
