The United Nations (UN) has said that it wants to see free and fair elections where people can vote freely without any sort of intimidation.
Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General said this while replying to a question virtually on Friday (December 22).
Regarding the election in Bangladesh, he said we do call for free and fair elections where people can vote freely without any sort of intimidation.
He also said that obviously, we may have things to say after the elections but our positions remain unchanged.
In reply to another question regarding arson attacks, the spokesperson said we extend our condolences to all those who perished in that horrific fire. I think it is incumbent on the authorities in Bangladesh to fully investigate the source and to bring those responsible to justice.
