Polling will be stopped for any attempt of vote rigging: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has said the Election Commission will stop polling at any centre immediately if any attempt of vote rigging is reported.

The CEC made the remark while speaking at a views exchange meeting with candidates of Barishal district at the Returning Officer's office in Barishal on Saturday.

Returning officers are not able to change results. Now the result is declared at every center. Candidates can know the results from home, he said.

Barishal Divisional Commissioner Shawkat Ali presided over the meeting while Election Commission Secretary Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Barishal Range Deputy Inspector General Jamil Hasan and Police Commissioner Jihadul Kabir were present.
