Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said resisting election is not a democratic right. It is the constitutional duty of every citizen, public representative and the police to prevent the inaction of those who come to resist voting.
The DMP commissioner made the remarks while replying to the questions of journalists after a view exchange meeting with the councillors of Dhaka South and North City Corporation at the auditorium of Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital on Monday (December 25).
Habibur Rahman said, “There is no specific possibility of risk and sabotage ahead of the 12th parliamentary election slated for January 7. Councillors said people are out to cast their votes in their areas. All will cast their votes willingly.”
