HC rejects writ challenging legality of Shahjahan’s nomination papers

The High Court (HC) has rejected a writ petition, challenging legality of the nomination papers of Shahjahan Omar, the Jhalakathi-1 Awami League candidate who recently left the BNP.

The bench of Justice Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman and Justice Md Bashir Ullah passed the order on Wednesday (December 27).

So, the court has cleared the way for Shahjahan Omar to contest the January 7 election.
