Verdict in graft case against Mirza Abbas today

A Dhaka Court will deliver its verdict in a case filed against BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on charge of amassing wealth beyond his known sources of income and concealing information in the wealth statement.
Dhaka special judge court-6 Justice Manjurul Imam will pass the verdict on Thursday (December 28).
Earlier on November 22, the court fixed November 30 to deliver the verdict in the case after the hearing. Later, Judge Manjurul Imam of Dhaka Special Judge Court-6 deferred it to December 28 as it was not prepared.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on August 16, 2007, filed the case with Ramna Police Station for allegedly amassing wealth of Tk 7.54 crore illegally and concealing information about wealth of Tk 57.26 lakh.
ACC assistant director Md Khairul Huda after probing the case filed a charge sheet on May 24, 2008, accusing Abbas of amassing wealth of Tk 4.23 crore illegally. The court on June 16, 2008, framed charges against Mirza Abbas.
