180 foreign observers from 35 countries apply to monitor polls

Around 180 foreign observers from 35 countries have applied to the Election Commission to monitor the upcoming national election to be held on January 7 next.

Foreign ministry’s Spokesperson Seheli Sabrin disclosed this at a weekly briefing at foreign ministry on Thursday.

Sabrin said journalists from international media outlets have also applied to the Election Commission to cover the polls.

Besides, Sabrin said around 30 officials from election commissions of various countries will also come to monitor the election.
