Coast Guard members deployed

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has deployed it members in coastal areas to maintain peace and order during the 12th national election.

Coast Guard Headquarters Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Khandaker Munif Taki confirmed this through a press release on Friday.

Coast Guard members have been deployed in 43 coastal unions to assist the civil administration in a bid to hold a free and fair election.

He said as per the directives of the Election Commission, the Bangladesh Coast Guard will perform duties as a mobile and striking force in the coastal areas from December 29, 2023, to January 10, 2024.
