Movement of several parties still democratic: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has said movement of several parties is still democratic, but it will be undemocratic and challenging if they try to foil the election. 

The CEC made the remark while talking to journalists after exchanging views with the law enforcers and field-level administration at Sylhet Circuit House on Saturday.

The next general election will surely be free, fair and neutral and the Election Commission (EC) is determined to ensure that, he said.

“It is possible to hold a free and fair election with the support we have received from the government,” the CEC said.
