2 more metro stations open for commuters

Two more metro rail stations at Karwan Bazar and Shahbagh on the Uttara-Motijheel route were opened to the public on Sunday (December 31).

Following the inauguration of new two stations, a total of 16 stations of the metro rail are currently in operation.

MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), revealed the information in a press conference at Eskaton on December 28.

A year ago, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina launched the country’s first-ever electricity-powered elevated and air-conditioned rail system on the 11.73-kilometre-long Uttara–Agargaon section on December 28, 2022, amid huge enthusiasm.
