Journalist killed in Savar road crash

A journalist was killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Bank Town, Savar on Sunday morning (December 31).

The deceased was known as Kamruzzaman Ratan, 50, son of Shah Mohammad Humayun Kabir. He was a video editor at Deepto TV in Dhaka.

Sources said that the victim was riding his motorcycle towards Dhaka on Sunday morning. When he reached the Bank Town area on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway, a speeding truck hit him from behind and fled the scene. He died on the spot.

Savar Highway police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Abul Hossain confirmed the matter.
