More than half of polling stations vulnerable in capital: DMP boss

More than half of the polling centres out of 2,146 in the capital have been identified as vulnerable ahead of the 12th parliamentary election slated for January 7.
Additional security measures will be strengthened at those polling stations identified as vulnerable.
Habibur Rahman, Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), made the remarks while replying to questions of reporters after the book festival programme at Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College on Monday (January 1) morning.
The commissioner said that there are 2,146 polling stations in the capital of which more than half are identified as vulnerable. Security will be beefed up to ensure that voters can cast their votes peacefully in those vulnerable centres. Several layers of security have been taken in the capital to provide overall security to voters on the day of election. Law enforcement agencies will be on high alert to ensure that no one can create chaos.
