Paban’s candidacy declared invalid for threating DC, SP

The Election Commission has declared candidacy of independent candidate for Lakhsmipur-1 constituency Mohammad Habibur Rahman Paban for threating Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP).

A letter signed by EC Deputy Secretary Md Abdus Salam was sent to Habibur Rahman Paban on Tuesday (January 2).

According to the letter, for the first time, one’s candidacy has been canceled for violating the code of conduct in the upcoming 12th national election.

Juba League presidium member Mohammad Habibur Rahman Paban became an independent candidate with the eagle symbol.

Last Saturday, he threatened to transfer the DC and SP of the district within three days.
