5 lakh Ansar-VDP deployed across the country

A total of 517,143 members of the Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) were deployed across the country to ensure security in the upcoming 12th national elections.

Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) director general Major General AKM Aminul Haque revealed the information in a press conference on Friday (January 5).

He said that according to the instructions of the Election Commission, 505,788 general Ansar and VDP members have been deployed to maintain law and order and security of ballot boxes in 42,149 polling stations across the country.

He also said that a total of 12 Ansar and VDP members will perform round-the-clock duty in each center for the security of the election centers.
