Arrival of Commonwealth delegation is joyful: GM Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said Commonwealth has sent a delegation to monitor the 12th national election to be held on Sunday.  It is a joyful matter for us.

He made the remark while talking to journalists at Dhaka district AL office in the city’s Tejgaon on Friday.

He said, “Commonwealth did not send any observer in the last two elections, this time they have sent a delegation. This is good news for us.”

“The Commonwealth did not send any observers in the 2014 and 2018 elections. This time, 17 representatives including 10 observers from the Commonwealth have come here. The Commonwealth team told us that Bangladesh is an important member of the Commonwealth. This international organization has a very sincere relationship with Bangladesh”, he said.

Earlier, in the morning, Quader held a meeting with the Commonwealth delegation at Sonargaon Hotel in the city.
