Juba Dal leader arrested in connection with Benapole Express fire

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested a person in connection with the fire incident at Benapole Express train.

The arrestee is Monsur Alam alias Kazi Monsur, a Juba Dal leader.

Media and public relations department of DMP confirmed this on Saturday noon.

According to police, he was arrested around 3:30pm on Saturday from Beribadh Chairman Ghat area under Chawkbazar Thana.

A DB team of Lalbagh’s Kotwali zonal team arrested him with the support of a team of Chawkbazar Thana.

The Benapole Express fire killed at least four people on Friday (January 5) night.
