Voter turnout 41.8% in 12th parliamentary election: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said around 41.8 percent votes were cast in the 12th parliamentary election.
The CEC said this while replying to a question of reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon on Monday (January 8).
Earlier, a group of election observers met the CEC and thanked the EC for the overall fair election environment.
On Sunday (January 7), the CEC said around 40 percent of votes were cast in the 12th parliamentary election. Meanwhile, he also said that the election was peaceful.
On the other, the foreign observers said that the voting was fair, peaceful, and systematic across the country. Observers from various countries including OIC, Russia, Palestine, Canada, and Gambia have expressed their satisfaction regarding the election.
