2 crushed to death by train in capital

Two people were crushed to death under the wheels by trains in two separate incidents in the capital on Monday (January 8) night.

Rezwan Khan Saimon, 18, a salesman at a clothes shop of Bashundhara market, was critically injured as a speedy train ran over him in Moghbazar rail gate area around 9:30 pm. On information, a passer-by named Mamun took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead around 10:15 pm.

In another incident, a young man was seriously injured as a train hit him in Ashkona rail gate area of the airport. Being informed, a police constable took him to the DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries around 9:30 pm while undergoing treatment.

Confirming the incidents, Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, said the two bodies were kept at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.
