Newly-elected MPs take oath

The newly-elected 298 members of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad took oath of the office on Wednesday (January 10).

Speaker Shirin Charmin Chaudhury took her oath as the MP in the 12th Parliament. Later, she administered the oaths in the oath-taking room of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban around 10:00am.

Then the MPs signed the oath form.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Election Commission (EC) published a gazette notification on the results of the 12th National Elections with details of 298 newly-elected Members of Parliament (MP).

The 12th national election took place on Sunday (January 7) where the Awami League led alliance bagged a landslide win with 225 seats.

Awami League bagged 222 seats alone.
