PM instructs ministers to keep essentials’ price under control

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed the newly appointed ministers to take necessary steps for keeping prices of essential products under control during the upcoming month of Holy Ramadan.
“Holy Ramadan is approaching, so take necessary steps as the prices of essentials could not go up during this month,” she said while holding an informal meeting with the newly appointed ministers who came here with her to pay homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Saturday (January 13).
The meeting was held at the premier’s own residence at Tungipara.
Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin briefed the reporters after the meeting. He said it was also an informal cabinet meeting.
Salahuddin said, the premier asked the ministers to take measures for Ramadan period especially against the hoarders so they could not stockpile essential items resulting in artificial crisis.
Urging the new ministers to conduct drives against hoarding on regular basis, the premier said, “Keep the price of essentials under control so the common people could lead comfortable life.”
