Executive engineer found dead at Dhaka hotel

An executive engineer of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) has been found dead at a hotel in the capital's Nayapaltan area.

The deceased was known as Md Abbas Uddin, 55. He was the executive engineer of BIWTC's Chattogram Sadarghat.

Kamrul Islam, sub-inspector at Paltan police station said the victim’s house is hailed from Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla. He came to Dhaka from Chattogram on January 13 for his office work and boarded at Hotel the Capital in Nayapltan. He was scheduled to leave the hotel on Tuesday noon.

Later, getting no response from phone calls, the hotel authorities informed the matter to police.

BIWTC public relations officer Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter.
