Dhaka-bound buses from Kurigram, Gaibandha and Bogura have been stopped due to conflict between bus owners.
Bus owners have stopped all Dhaka-bound buses from Thursday (January 18) morning.
Talking to bus owners and labour union leaders, it is known that a bus of Biplob Islam, mayor of Palashbari municipality and president of Gaibandha Bus, Minibus and Microbus Owners Association, used to ply from Bhurungamari in Kurigram to Kuakata. Suddenly on Wednesday (January 17), the Kurigram Bus, Minibus and Microbus Owners Association stopped the bus service. In protest against this, Biblob Islam halted two buses of Kurigram.
Later, the Bogura Bus, Minibus and Microbus Owners Association stopped most of the buses from the northern region to Dhaka.
Officer-in-Charge of Palashbari Thana Arzu Mohammad Sajjad Hossain said we are trying to resolve the problem.
