‘TIB misleading people through untrue information’

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat has said Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) is misleading people through providing untrue information on the 12th national election.

The state minister made the allegation at a press briefing at his office at the Secretariat on Thursday.

“TIB didn’t follow any international criteria for making report on the 12th parliamentary election.  It has done the research within 10 days of the national election and reached many conclusions. I don’t know how it is possible to conduct the research within a short period,” he said.

Arafat said TIB and many other vested groups are trying to spread falsehood against the EC to frustrate the country’s democracy.
