India is our true friend: Khalid

State Minister of Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has cited India as a true friend of Bangladesh.

“India is our true friend. It has been a true friend to Bangladesh since the Liberation War. They want to stay with us in every development,” he said.

Khalid said this during a meeting with Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma in his secretariat office room on Tuesday (January 23). 

During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations involving mutual interests.

Verma congratulated the newly formed government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Khalid said, “The two countries will work to advance connectivity between them. Indian investors are interested in investing in the economic zone developing centring on Payra seaport.”

The state minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is moving forward with the friendly diplomatic dictum of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
