IRF congratulates foreign minister

International Relations Reporters Forum (IRF) has extended warm wishes and congratulations to Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud. 

On Wednesday (January 24) afternoon at the ministry of foreign affairs, IRF congratulated the newly-appointed Foreign Minister and Awami League’s Joint General Secretary to Dr. Hasan Mahmud. 

IRF President Hasan Mahamud, Chief Reporter of RisingBD.com; General Secretary Mahamudul Haque Sujan, Senior Reporter of BTV; Organizing Secretary Shahriar Hasan, Senior Reporter of Global Television; Finance Secretary Raihan Reza Chowdhury, Senior Reporter of Daily Alor Jogot; Publicity Secretary Shahadat Hossain, Senior reporter of DNews.com and other organization members were present. 

Awami League has formed the government for the fourth consecutive term after getting an absolute majority in the 12th national election. 

Joint General Secretary of Awami League Hasan Mahmud was elected as a member of parliament for the fourth consecutive time and became the foreign minister of the government. 

Earlier, Hasan Mahmud was called to the cabinet for the third time after holding the responsibilities of the ministry of environment and forest and the ministry of information and broadcasting. 

During the period 2009-2013, he served as a cabinet member of the government of the people's republic of Bangladesh as minister of environment and forests.

Before his appointment as a minister, Hasan Mahmud served as the state minister of Bangladesh in the ministry of foreign affairs and ministry of environment and forests of the same government. 

After becoming a member of the parliament in the 11th national election, he was given the responsibility of the ministry of information and broadcasting from 7 January 2019.
