PM to meet independent MPs this evening

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to meet the newly elected lawmakers who won the 7 January polls as independent candidates.

The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence Ganabhaban on Sunday evening (January 28).

Awami League sources said that during the meeting with the independent members of parliament, the prime minister may address and seek resolution to disputes among grassroots Awami League leaders.

There are 62 independent candidates in the 12th National Parliament. Of them, 60 belong to Awami League, won by defeating the 'boat' candidates in the race.
