“India played its part during polls as an honest neighbour”

Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul said that India played its due role during our parliamentary election as an honest neighbour.

The Awami League leader made the opinion while addressing newsmen after a meeting with Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh on Sunday (January 28).

He said that some oppositions in this country wanted to destabilize us here by joining forces with some foreign countries. They wanted to disrupt the election. At that time India stood beside us. We have to admit that.

Obaidul Quader also said Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have broken the wall of doubt and mistrust in the friendly relations between the two countries.

Regarding the recent tension on the Myanmar border, he said that we will go for a solution through discussion with Myanmar. We will not go to any conflict.
